Trade by trade

Every trade gets paid a bit differently. Tap yours to see how PaySorted handles it.

Plumbers

Invoicing at 10pm

Writing up the day's jobs after a 12-hour shift is nobody's idea of fun. With PaySorted you invoice on the doorstep in under a minute.

Emergency call-outs that never pay

Burst pipes get fixed fast, and forgotten just as fast. Reminders go out automatically, so the £180 call-out actually lands.

Awkward "have you paid yet?" calls

No more chasing customers you'll see again. PaySorted does the nudging in your name, friendly first, firmer only if needed.

Electricians

Certificates going missing

Attach EICRs, minor works and installation certificates to the job. Customers download them from their own page, no more "can you email that again?"

Big jobs, slow payers

Ask for a deposit when the customer accepts your quote, and chase the balance automatically when the job is done.

Subcontract work under CIS

Working for a main contractor? Turn on CIS and PaySorted shows the deduction on labour only, materials are left out, as they should be.

Gas and heating engineers

Expensive kit on your card

A boiler install means thousands in parts up front. Take a deposit when the quote is accepted so you're never out of pocket.

Annual services nobody pays for

Service invoices are small, so they're easy to forget. PaySorted reminds customers for you, every one gets paid.

Landlord CP12s

Invoice the landlord or agent, attach the gas safety record, and let reminders do the chasing.

Builders

Cash flow on long jobs

Take a deposit when the quote is accepted and invoice each stage as you go, instead of waiting for one big payment at the end.

CIS and reverse charge headaches

PaySorted works out CIS deductions on labour and shows the domestic reverse charge wording when you invoice a VAT and CIS registered contractor who isn't the end user.

Customers who go quiet

Reminders go out before the due date, on the day and after. When it's really overdue, there's a ready-made letter before action.

Roofers

"I didn't know it was that bad"

Add before-and-after photos to the job. Customers see them on their quote and invoice, so the price makes sense.

Weather delays and cash flow

Take a deposit to cover materials and scaffold up front, then invoice the balance when the job's signed off.

Subbing for a main contractor

CIS deductions on labour, worked out for you, with materials left out of the calculation.

Carpenters and joiners

Timber bought before the job starts

Take a deposit when the customer accepts your quote, so materials are covered before you cut a thing.

Final payments that drag

Invoice the balance on completion and let PaySorted remind the customer until it's paid.

Site and second-fix work

Working on site for a builder under CIS? Deductions on labour are calculated for you.

Plasterers

Contractors who pay "next month"

Set your payment terms and PaySorted reminds the contractor before the due date, on the day and after.

CIS on every subcontract invoice

Turn on CIS and the deduction is shown on labour only, with a reminder for the contractor to send their CIS statement.

Day rates and m² prices

Save your rates in your price list and build invoices in seconds.

Tilers

Pricing by the m²

Save your per-m² rates and add them with a quantity, PaySorted does the maths, with VAT if you're registered.

Customers supplying tiles

Keep it clear: labour on one line, adhesive and grout on another, and a note that tiles were supplied by the customer.

Waiting on the bathroom fitter to pay

Subcontracting to a fitter? Set terms and PaySorted chases them politely for you.

Painters and decorators

Pricing every job from scratch

Save your day rate, per-room prices and common materials in your price list. Build a quote in seconds.

Small jobs, forgotten invoices

A £350 hallway is easy for a customer to forget. PaySorted reminds them, so it isn't forgotten.

Looking professional

Your invoices carry your name, colours and logo (or a clean name heading if you don't have one), with everything the law requires.

Landscapers

Lots of small regular invoices

Invoicing ten maintenance customers a month adds up. Duplicate last month's invoice in one tap and send.

Customers who are never in

Text the invoice with a "Pay now" link, they pay from wherever they are.

Big landscaping jobs

Quote patios, fencing and turfing with a deposit to cover materials, then invoice the balance on completion.

Handymen and odd-job work

Too many small jobs to keep track of

See who owes you what on one screen, with overdue amounts in red.

"I'll transfer it later"

Later becomes never. PaySorted sends friendly reminders until it's paid, then stops.

Paperwork

No spreadsheets or templates. The quick invoice asks three things: who, what, how much.

Cleaners, gardeners on a round, dog walkers and driving instructors have their own versions: cleaners and rounds, dog walkers, driving instructors.

Automatic chasing

If they don't pay

You get three ready-written reminders (friendly, professional and firm) filled in with the customer's name, the invoice number, the amount and a payment link. They go out on schedule by email or text, and stop the moment the customer pays.

  • Before it's due, on the day, then 7, 14 and 28 days late
  • Sent from your business name, replies come straight to you
  • Customers can tap "I've paid by bank transfer" to pause reminders
  • Edit the wording and timings, or leave it to us

Also in there

Quotes customers accept online, deposits, photos and certificates on each job, card and Pay by Bank payments, CIS and VAT on invoices, and Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent & Sage.

Deposits, text reminders, the customer page and the letter before action are on the Pro plan and above. Everything else is on every plan.

Your brand, not ours

Your business name on everything, not ours

Your customers see your business on every invoice, payment page, receipt and reminder. PaySorted works quietly in the background.

  • Your logo and colour on invoices, receipts and the payment page
  • Emails come from your business name, and replies come straight to you
  • Reminders in your own words: make them softer, firmer, or keep ours
  • Texts sent under your business name
  • Everything a UK invoice must show, VAT or not (What must be on an invoice?)
  • Just a small “Sent with PaySorted” line at the very bottom

Questions

Will my customers see PaySorted?

Hardly at all. Invoices, the payment page, receipts and reminders show your logo, your colour and your business name, and emails come from your name with replies going to you. There's a small "Sent with PaySorted" line at the bottom.

Can I invoice straight from the job?

Yes. Pick the customer, type what you did and the price, and tap Send. They get it by email or text with a "Pay now" button for card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Pay by Bank.

Does it do CIS?

Yes. Turn on CIS for a contractor and the deduction is shown on the invoice, with your UTR. VAT reverse charge is worked out too.

Can I put my Gas Safe, NICEIC or other registration number on invoices?

Yes. Add it to your invoice footer once and it appears on every invoice and quote.

Do I need to be VAT registered?

No. If you're not, your invoices show no VAT and say so. If you are, add your VAT number and VAT is shown properly on every invoice.

What if a landlord or letting agent is paying?

Add them as the customer and put the property as the site address. The invoice shows both, and reminders go to whoever is paying.
