How it works
- Connect GoCardless in More → Direct Debit. Make a new account or use the one you have.
- Send customers a link. They set up a Direct Debit once, protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.
- Invoice as normal. PaySorted collects each invoice by Direct Debit, records the payment and tells you if anything goes wrong.
Great for regular customers
Direct Debit suits anyone who bills the same people again and again: window cleaners and rounds, tutors and clubs with monthly fees, bookkeepers with retainers, freelancers on monthly retainers, and trades with maintenance contracts. Customers like it too: there's nothing to remember and nothing to pay late.
Payments are processed by GoCardless, authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. Each payment can be £1 to £5,000.
Common questions
Do I need a GoCardless account?
Yes, but you can make one from inside PaySorted in a few minutes, or connect the one you already have. Payments go from your customer's bank, through GoCardless, to your own bank.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra from PaySorted. GoCardless charges its own fee for each payment, shown on its pricing page.
Which PaySorted apps have Direct Debit?
All of them: trades, tutors and clubs, cleaners and rounds, bookkeepers, event suppliers and freelancers.
Is Direct Debit safe for my customers?
Yes. Every Direct Debit is protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee, so customers can get an immediate refund from their bank if a payment is taken in error.
How long until I get the money?
The first payment from a new Direct Debit usually arrives in about a week. After that, money normally reaches your bank two working days after the collection date.
